Youth Advisor's Message

Howdy everyone and welcome back! It’s been a stellar summer, and we’re looking forward to the beginning of a similarly spectacular year. By the time you read this article, chances are that TEMTY will have already begun its year with the annual NFTY-NE Summer Institute retreat held at the URJ Eisner Camp in Great Barrington, MA. This year we are honored to share that two of our own TEMTY members, Ben Sack and Ali Moldoff, served as Prayer Coordinators during the retreat, writing and leading t’filah services for the event. Congratulations and well done!

(It’s also possible that by the time you read this article TEMTY will have also already conducted it’s yearly Freshman Kidnap…)

Tantalizing tidbits aside, September is a busy, busy month. The first All TEMTY Meeting (open to all current and prospective TEMTY members in grades 9 through 12) will take place on Tuesday, September 14 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the TEMTY Lounge. Light refreshments will be served. Come and be an active part of planning our TEMTY calendar! The first TEMTY Hang-out of the year will take place on Tuesday, September 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Light refreshments, light conversation, laid-back atmosphere—a great way to cap off any day. The next evening, Wednesday, September 29, will be TEMTY’s annual Simchat Torah Falafel Dinner sale. Look for forthcoming details in your email inboxes and around the synagogue.

Hey Jr. TEMTY—listen up! We will be having a special head-of-the-year block party kick off on Sunday, September 26. Check your inboxes and around the synagogue for further information. Also look for information about this October’s Merrimack Valley outing to the Davis Mega Maze in Sterling, MA, open to all students in grades 5 through 8.

Until next time, be well, be merry, live long and prosper. Oh, and Shana Tova, y’all. Sweetly………………………….Nick Burka
