Project Home Again

double logo

Project Home Again distributes household goods, appliances and furniture to those in need in the Merrimack Valley. Through their social workers, clients can come to our warehouse and select what they need for their homes free of charge. We depend on donated items from the community to fill our warehouse and monetary donations to purchase basic necessities that are hard to keep in stock. Each month hundreds of families benefit from our agency. Many of these families have nothing and receiving your donated goods can transform their lives. Please help us to help those in need so that they can live more comfortably and with the knowledge that somebody cares.

There are children who slept on the floor last night because they have no bed. Mothers need pots and pans to help feed their families nutritious meals. You can help!

Some of our most urgently needs items are: sheets, blankets, towels, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, small kitchen appliances, dressers, beds, cribs, baby blankets and accessories, kitchen tables and chairs, and couches.

The Warehouse is closed for the summer.

In the Fall, Project Home Again is open to drop-off donations on:

Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am-12noon

Thursdays from 1pm-3pm

Check our website for more information and special weekend hours.

I want to thank everyone who came out on Mitzvah Day to paint the warehouse – it looks amazing! Les Satlow did an extraordinary job leading the project. The transformation is remarkable. Now our clients have such a bright and happy place to “shop” for all their needs. I was told that the atmosphere in the warehouse on Mitzvah Day was electric – and it thrills me. I hope you all come back once we have moved into the new space to see the finished product.

We will be closing for the summer on June 17th. At that time, we will start moving over to the newly painted area and getting ready for our grand re-opening in the fall. If anybody is interested in helping with the move, please let me know. I can be reached at info@phama.orgor at 978-470-1356.

Warehouse hours and urgent needs can be found on our website at www.phama.org. Thanks for your continued support.

Community Support Group

We are looking for caring seniors to be companions for senior citizens in the community. If you are looking to help or to bring a little joy to someone's life please let me know. Even an hour a week can make a difference!

Anyone interested in or needing assistance from our Community Support Group, designed to help Temple members during an illness or death, by providing rides, helping with meal preparation, visiting isolated elderly members, etc., contact me or notify the Temple Office. A message will be relayed.

Thanks!..........................Janice Pirro

Bread & Roses

Bread & Roses is a soup kitchen in Lawrence, MA with a strong and rich tradition of being a center of hope and caring to the hundreds of people in the Merrimack Valley who are struggling for survival.  Founded in 1980, Bread & Roses' primary purpose is to ease the hunger of people in our community  by providing a well-balanced, nutritious evening meal.   All in need are welcome to our center to partake of a community meal in a peaceful, friendly environment.  Guided by a spirit of hospitality and nonviolence, respect for the dignity of each person who comes through the door is a hallmark of our community.   Since hunger relief is our main concern, there is no cost for the meal. Temple Emanuel prepares meals for Bread & Roses and also collects food and supplies.
