Project Home Again

double logo

Our shelves are almost bare! We need everything - blankets, sheets, towels, dishes, glasses, pots and pans, dressers, tables, beds, lamps, and anything else you can spare. To accommodate our great need, in addition to our regular hours, we are open more Sundays than ever before. We will be open the following Sundays in December from 10am-12noon - December 4th, 11th, and 18th.

One way to increase donations to PHA is to spread the word to your friends and neighbors, as well as letting any local organizations you may be involved with know about us and the work we do. We give tours to youth groups, schools, Girl Scouts and Boys Scouts, and Senior Centers, just to name a few. Often after seeing what we do, the groups will run a drive to help PHA.

I want to thank Heather and Steve Rosenfeld for volunteering to drive the truck once a month to pick up donations. Along with the Brotherhood’s commitment to also do pick ups once a month, we will now be able to pick up furniture at donors’ homes twice a month. You can email me at info@phama.org to schedule a pick up, or call 978-470-1356. Updated information and our complete schedule of hours and any weather related closings can be found on our website, www.phama.org.

Thanks for your continued generosity & support, Nancy Kanell

Community Support Group

We are looking for caring seniors to be companions for senior citizens in the community. If you are looking to help or to bring a little joy to someone's life please let me know. Even an hour a week can make a difference!

Anyone interested in or needing assistance from our Community Support Group, designed to help Temple members during an illness or death, by providing rides, helping with meal preparation, visiting isolated elderly members, etc., contact me or notify the Temple Office. A message will be relayed.

Thanks!..........................Aileen Peters

Bread & Roses

Bread & Roses is a soup kitchen in Lawrence, MA with a strong and rich tradition of being a center of hope and caring to the hundreds of people in the Merrimack Valley who are struggling for survival.  Founded in 1980, Bread & Roses' primary purpose is to ease the hunger of people in our community  by providing a well-balanced, nutritious evening meal.   All in need are welcome to our center to partake of a community meal in a peaceful, friendly environment.  Guided by a spirit of hospitality and nonviolence, respect for the dignity of each person who comes through the door is a hallmark of our community.   Since hunger relief is our main concern, there is no cost for the meal. Temple Emanuel prepares meals for Bread & Roses and also collects food and supplies.
