Message from the President

As I write this Bulletin article, I still have not received the January bulletin at home. I guess you may want to call it the Great Bulletin Mystery. However, it is not quite that mysterious. It appears the US Postal service lost the whole mailing that was to go to Andover. Seems strange, but the bureaucratic process of the Postal Service actually takes the mailing we take to Andover Post Office and ships it to a central distribution point and then the Andover portion comes back to Andover for delivery. In this case it got lost somewhere between here and there as people outside of Andover received theirs more than a week ago. Please do not blame the Temple Office. The bulletin is very important to them and they often “stop” everything to get it out on time. In this case, it was taken to the Post Office on December 24th. The Temple Office has had the Post office looking for it, and yesterday they were informed that the mailing had been found and was on its way.

However, even if you do not get the bulletin on time, please be aware that as soon as it is published, it is available on the temple website (as well as previous issues you can use for reference). Carrie also sends out a link to the bulletin. Therefore it is always there for you and you do not need to wait.

And as I look at it on line now, I think our membership should be very proud of the quality of our bulletin. It is full of many informative articles, authored by our Rabbi, Cantor, Executive Director, our Education Directors and others who try to keep you informed of activities and their own views. It is also full of information of what is going on in the temple community. You can see who is becoming a bar/bat mitzvah, what the Sisterhood or TEMTY have planned and information on countless other activities. There are loads of great pictures and please visit our advertisers.

Since you are reading this article, you obviously are reading the bulletin, but please look it over thoroughly, see what may be going on that is of interest to you or others in your family, and please thank all those who make the bulletin possible, including the US Postal Service
